Park Mansions occupies a prominent corner position within the Knightsbridge Green Conservation Area, with its distinctive triangular form overlooking one of London’s most prestigious retail districts. The building also carries historic interest as the former Burberry flagship store, making its external appearance an important part of the local streetscape.
Triton were appointed by Parkgate Aspen as Principal Contractor to carry out external repair and redecoration works to the Knightsbridge and Brompton Road elevations. The works required careful planning within a sensitive conservation setting, ensuring that the building’s character was protected while essential repairs were completed to improve long term performance.
The scope included repairs to chimney pots, roof re slating, remedial works to roof cheeks and dormers, and renewal of Decothane coatings to asphalt balcony roofs and primary roof areas. A key element of the project was the repair and recovery of the copper turret feature, where intrusive inspections revealed extensive decay to the supporting timber structure. Triton undertook significant timber renewal before re cladding the turret, restoring both the integrity and appearance of this prominent architectural feature.
