Work
Roofing, Concrete repairs, Façade cleaning and Restoration
Façade and roofing restoration was completed at 230 Blackfriars Road on London’s South Bank. Age related defects to the reinforced concrete frame, cladding panels and roof coverings were repaired to extend service life and protect the occupied spaces below.
Roof areas were cleaned and sealed with a Westwood Wecryl liquid waterproofing system, with lead flashings secured and locally renewed where needed. On the façades, defective concrete was removed, reinforcement cleaned and treated, and repairs rebuilt with Sika MonoTop mortars before corrosion control and water repellent protection was applied.
Failed sealant joints were renewed, hollow brick slips were pinned back with stainless steel fixings, and localised repointing and brick replacement were completed. Works were programmed to reduce noise and disruption for residents and commercial occupiers, including BP teams working across multiple time zones.
