Contract Value
£227,000

Work
Stonework, Decoration, Joinery, Gilding

Listing
Grade II

Designed in 1900 by Lewen Sharp, this Grade II listed theatre is dominated by the highly ornate high level statues of angels.

Originally constructed in Bath stone, the façade at the Apollo Theatre has been repeatedly repainted over the years, resulting in the subsequent deterioration of the stone.

Once the paint had been stripped back to the bare substrate, all defective sections of Bath stone were identified and reinstated to their original profiles using Triton Bath Stone Mortar mix and brass reinforcement where necessary. Upon completion of the stone restoration works, the façade was redecorated using the Keim Granital Mineral Paint System.

All joinery was refurbished, and the Apollo Theatre raised lettering was refixed and gilded.
