Built in 1825 for the Duke of York and Albany, this Grade I listed building, designed by Benjamin Wyatt, is one of the finest Bath Stone buildings in the capital. Lancaster House is a regular venue for summit meetings and has been used as a backdrop for several films.

Following a ten year planning and consultation process, Triton were awarded the contract to undertake extensive remedial works to the façade. The overall programme of twenty two weeks was split into four phases with critical deadlines for the scaffold removal on each phase.

A combination of surveys by metal detector, and thermographic camera were undertaken to ascertain the location of existing ferrous cramps. The cramps which were at a shallower depth had rusted and damaged the stonework to varying degrees. Several potentially matching Bath Stones were selected from the Triton Stone Library and offered to the client, to be approved for use in repairs.

We were awarded The Georgian Group Architectural Award for our works undertaken at Lancaster House.
