The Huguenot Burial Ground, also known as Mount Nod, is one of Wandsworth’s most significant historic burial sites. Established around 1687 for the French Huguenot community who settled in the area after fleeing religious persecution, the ground contains an important collection of historic monuments, including several Grade II listed table tombs.
Triton Restoration carried out an extensive programme of specialist conservation works across the burial ground, carefully restoring a wide range of historic tombs, headstones, ledger stones and masonry structures.
The works included stone and brick repairs, dismantling and reconstruction of unstable monuments, repointing and lime repairs, replacement of corroded fixings with stainless steel, specialist cleaning and consolidation of historic stonework. Particular care was taken to retain as much original fabric as possible while securing and preserving the monuments for the future.
