We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Graduate Project Manager to join our team. The role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a dynamic specialised sector.
Role Description
As an Estimator, you will be central to securing restoration projects by producing accurate, commercially robust tenders from enquiry through to submission. You will assess scope, quantify works, engage supply chains, and support negotiations, while working closely with the Production and Contracts teams to protect the company’s commercial interests and support successful project delivery.
Skills & Experience Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player with:
- Relevant working experience in estimation and business development (ideally 5+ years)
- Knowledge of construction including restoration and refurbishment
- High level of motivation and initiative
- Keen interest in restoration and conservation
- Commercial awareness with a proven track record of delivering profitable results
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A history of building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Exceptional attention to details
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Produce accurate tender estimates for restoration and construction works
- Measure and quantify works from drawings and site information
- Issue subcontract enquiries and manage return deadlines
- Compare subcontractor returns and complete cost comparisons
- Build up rates for labour, materials, plant, preliminaries, and overheads
- Prepare tender submissions and supporting information
- Manage tender clarifications with clients, consultants, and suppliers
- Attend site visits to confirm access, logistics, and constraints
- Support post-tender negotiations and value engineering where required
- Provide pre-contract commercial advice to the Production/Contracts teams
- Price variations and support valuations and final accounts
- Maintain tender files, benchmarks, and pricing records
- Report fortnightly to the Production Director on enquiry pipeline and success rates
