Foreign & Commonwealth Office
Downing Street, London, SW1

Triton completed the fourth phase of cleaning and external refurbishment of this Grade I listed building within a contract period of thirty two weeks.

The Downing Street elevation differed significantly from the other elevations of the FCO in the respect that Downing Street is subject to strict police control. Working hours were also restricted due to daily events taking place in Downing Street. Triton utilised a crane for the lifting of heavy stones, movement fractures were structurally repaired and a large number of indents were inserted, as well as additional works that included the replacement of a corroded lead roof.

All works were overseen by English Heritage and conservation consultants, Catherine Woolfitt Associates.
