Welbeck House
60-62 Welbeck Street, London, W1

Welbeck House is sited on the corner of Welbeck and Wigmore Street, just a stone’s throw from Oxford Street.

A mix of residential, retail and commercial tenants in a very busy location can cause a variety of logistical problems, so Triton appointed a very experienced manager for this contract.

The restoration works themselves comprised stone cleaning, masonry repairs, metalwork and joinery repairs.

Slate and asphalt repairs were undertaken to the roof, with the concealed parapet gutters waterproofed using a liquid plastic coating.

The dirty granite columns in the entrance were gently cleaned using a specialist detergent.

Triton liaised closely with John Bell and Croyden Pharmacy in order to gain access to their stores, as they were located in a basement vault beneath the pavement. The presence of a basement vault presented a challenge for the scaffold design, which was overcome by back propping in the basement area.

Throughout the contract Triton ensured that there was as little disruption as possible to the running of John Bell and Croyden Pharmacy.

Whilst the works were in progress, Triton maintained prominent signage, to inform the public that businesses affected by the work were open as usual.
