Conservation Projects

Triton’s core business, as a Principal Contractor, is predominantly concerned with the external refurbishment of architecturally significant buildings with a contract value of over £100,000. However, a small works service is available to established clients, where our particular specialist restoration and masonry skills are required.

Within the London Borough of Wandsworth for example, in addition to the cleaning and full restoration of several major landmarks, Triton have undertaken numerous smaller projects, with a specialist element to the works. In Battersea Park, this has included the rebuilding and repair of masonry, following vehicle damage, to the Peace Pagoda and several large gate piers, as well as the dismantling and relocation of statues and an ornamental sundial.

Elsewhere in the borough, cleaning and stone conservation skills have been applied to the maintenance of 12 Grade II* and Grade II listed Huguenot tombs, Victorian Kentish Rag cemetery lodges and crematoria, for the structural repair of an Edwardian bandstand and for the restoration intricately carved fleur-de-lys and crest, amongst other prominent architectural features.

In selecting Triton to specifically undertake these projects, the local Conservation Officers, with whom an excellent working relationship has been established, can rely on the same high standard of workmanship, contractual performance and attention to detail that has been demonstrated on large, prestigious buildings over the past 16 years.
